Melanie Douglas

Melanie’s love of travel started with her grandmother, who never turned down an invitation to go anywhere. She’d simply say, “Let me change my shoes,” and be out the door. That same spirit of adventure followed Melanie into adulthood, and she's always ready for the chance to explore somewhere new. One of her favorite family trips was to Walt Disney World the day after Christmas, when her kids were 8 and 4. Friends met them there with their triplet boys, and watching the kids' wonder at every turn made the crowds and long lines completely worth it. Helping others has also been a constant throughout Melanie’s life. That instinct has shaped her nearly 30-year career in education, most recently as a Coordinated School Health Director. After talking with former student and fellow advisor Emily Grissom about life as a travel agent, Melanie knew she’d found her next chapter. Now, as she looks toward retirement from education, she’s excited to spend more time doing what she loves most: helping families turn their travel dreams into reality.

• Earned degrees from Union University and UT Martin, along with an Administrative Leadership certification from Freed-Hardeman

• Lives on a cattle and row crop farm in West Tennessee with her three fur babies, Lady, Wilbert, and Ruby

• Once considered becoming a flight attendant before landing in education
